FIN 247 Unit 1

U1-TECH EX 1

Week one was a challenge with the cold temperatures and short days. I struggled to adjust settings as I went because my hands were getting cold and numb. I started in auto mode but found it resulted in an overexposed sky and dark foreground. I experimented with landscape, macro, and portrait modes, but none were balanced. The biggest lesson learnt was to utilize the preset options to simplify future shoots and to plan and create a camera settings cheat sheet for quick reference. I tried to utilize the rule of thirds while shooting, capturing movement in the river and framing from the tree. Despite initial challenges, I eventually captured some nice photos and gained familiarity with the camera.
